The Island by Elin Hilderbrand

Liz's book pick this time around was The Island by Elin Hilderbrand.  Liz flew in to host book club at Paul Martin's in Mountain View where we feasted on roasted cauliflower among other delicious items.

Most people enjoyed the book and rated it higher than a standard "beach read" because its characters were more developed, though some were disappointed with the Hank storyline.  Cathy immediately went out and got another one by the same author and enjoyed that as well ("This is us").

Karen said it was perfect reading with a lake as a backdrop.

And Rebecca enjoyed the book from Lubec, Maine, the easternmost town in the US.
