The Home Place
Rebecca holds one phone with Carrie on FaceTime and one phone with Karen on speaker while Amy asks Carrie a question |
On February 1st, we met at Rebecca's in Santa Cruz to discuss The Home Place, a novel by Carrie La Seur. The Amazon synopsis:
Carrie La Seur makes her remarkable debut with The Home Place, a mesmerizing, emotionally evocative, and atmospheric literary novel in the vein of The House Girl and A Land More Kind Than Home, in which a successful lawyer is pulled back into her troubled family’s life in rural Montana in the wake of her sister’s death.I enjoyed the book. I have never been to Montana, but the book does a good job of giving a sense of what it might be like to live there. We all thought the character development was very good.

Rebecca made a delicious lunch of salad with exotic spices, bread and goat cheese, and a sweet potato soup.
Thanks to Carrie for joining our club meeting!
