Heads in Beds

We met on March 3rd at my house to discuss the book I chose, Heads in Beds:  A Reckless Memoir of Hotels, Hustles, and So-Called Hospitality by Jacob Tomsky.

It was a tell-all memoir about a guy who's worked in the hotel business for years.  Here is what we learned:  when you check in, along with your driver's license and credit card, hand over a 20-dollar bill and say: "Thanks for anything you can do for me."  Apparently it leads to all sorts of perks, and Liz tried it out with success!

Buddha in the Attic

We met on December 9th at Karen's house to discuss the book Liz had chosen, Buddha in the Attic, by Julie Otsuka. 

Mimosas were had!  Dancing was done! 

I don't think anyone was super crazy about the book.  I found the writing in the third person fairy annoying.

Nonetheless, a good time was had by all!
