Nights at the Circus - Angela Carter
On October 9th, we met up at my house to discuss the novel Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter.
It was a fantastical, word-heavy tale of a woman right before the turn of the 19th century who had wings. We all found ourselves reaching for the dictionary reading this one, and I know I missed many of the literary references.
Only 3 of us read the whole thing! The beginning was a slog. Lisa liked it the most.
It was a beautiful warm day in Belmont and we sat outside and had a lot of delicious desserts.
